5 Simple Habits To Stay Motivated In Your Business In Times Of Uncertainty

It doesn’t matter if you’re just starting up a business or running a long-established business because when times get tough, it can be challenging to stay motivated.

This is especially true when you don’t have control over the situation, but what you can control is how you respond to it.

It all boils down to having a positive mindset so that you can stay focused and motivated in accomplishing your goals.

So, to help you overcome hard times, we have created a list of 5 simple habits to help you stay motivated in times of uncertainty as a business owner.

Continue reading to discover what they are…

1) Read Books That Improve Your Mindset

There are lots of benefits to reading books.

Not only can you learn something new, but it also helps your mental health, reduces stress, and can help get a better night’s sleep.

But if you don’t like reading, you also have the option of listening to audiobooks. You can easily get audible and listen to books from anywhere.

Whatever you use, when it comes to good books to read as an entrepreneur, here are some book recommendations for your reading pleasure:

  • Rich Dad Poor Dad by Rober Kiyosaki
  • How To Win Friends & Influence People by Dale Carnegie
  • The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A F*ck by Mark Manson
  • Starting From Zero: How To Build An Online Business When You’re Starting From Nothing By Fred Lam
  • The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey
  • Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
  • The $100 Startup by Chris Guillebeau

2) Plan Your Priorities For The Day

When the world around you is going into chaos, there isn’t anything better to keep yourself motivated than planning out your day.

It helps you to feel productive if you create a list of things you need you to do for the day, and then check them off as you accomplish them.

And there are lots of different tools you can use for planning your daily schedule. The most simple way is by just writing down what you need to do on a piece of paper everyday or in a planner you have.

If you like using your phone, you can always use the to-do list feature in ‘Notes’ on your phone or Google Calendar.

But, for the super organized tech-savvy people, two of our favorite tools for planning is Monday and Trello.

The best part is that they both have free plans and apps for your phone.

So, give one of them a try to help plan your day and stay motivated!

3) Display Your BIG Goals

When you write down your goals, you have a better chance of accomplishing them. This is because you remember things better when you write it down.

But by creating a visual cue as well, like displaying your goal on a wall, it will help to remind you of your goal every day and know what you are working towards.

We recommend doing this with big goals that take time to accomplish.

You want to display your big goals anywhere that you see every day, like your bedroom wall, your bathroom mirror, or your computer desk.

Doing this helps get you pumped for the day by knowing that you are working towards getting one step closer to accomplishing your goal.

4) Reward Yourself For Making Progress

Depending on what hard times you are going through, it might be hard to motivate yourself every day to accomplish work.

It can be even harder if you are in a situation where you are working from home.

But if you reward yourself for making progress, it can help you get through whatever work you have to do and that you might not want to do.

For example, when you reach a goal, you could reward yourself with something simple like ice cream.

It doesn’t matter what it is, just decide on what would motivate you the best to accomplish your tasks and goals.

5) Learn A New Skill

As a business owner, a great way to keep you motivated to achieve your goals is by learning a new skill.

Sometimes when the things around you aren’t going well, it can be a good idea to take control of your life through some self-improvement.

It doesn’t need to be something challenging, but by learning a new skill that you can use towards your business ventures, it can help to jump-start the motivation gears again.

Because when you learn something new, you feel more motivated to put the new skill to use.

The issue is that learning a new skill can be challenging, especially when you have to do it by yourself with no help or guidance.

But with online learning, it can be a lot easier!
